Grilled Caesar Chicken Burgers

This recipe was one of my first attempts as a young, wannabe cook because I loved Caesar dressing and it was grilling season (so masc). I will say, burgers are made just as easily on a grill pan or skillet on the stove top so you can enjoy these all year long.

I typically will serve these burgers with a side of tater tots or other potato based finger food (cause what’s better than tots or fries). Above, I made some grilled fingerling potatoes by tossing some potatoes with EVOO, rosemary, thyme, salt and pepper and grilling them in a foil packet!

These burgers also translate well to sliders – just cut the burger sizes in half or into thirds, depending on how large or small you like your sliders to be!

Rating: 3 out of 5.

This recipe will make approximately 4 burgers or 8 – 10 sliders.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb of ground chicken or turkey
  • 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese
  • 6 tablespoons of plain breadcrumbs
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 1/4 cup of Caesar dressing (my favorite is Cardini’s), plus more for topping
  • 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire
  • Zest of one lemon
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • avocado oil or other high smoke point oil
  • salt and pepper
  • 8 ounce ball of fresh mozzarella
  • 4 ciabatta rolls or potato buns (or 8 – 10 slider buns)
  • EVOO
  • Toppings: tomatoes (heirloom or beefsteak), red onions, romaine lettuce

Directions

  1. Combine ground chicken, Parmesan, breadcrumbs, 3 cloves of the garlic (diced or grated), Caesar dressing, Worcestershire, lemon zest and juice until well distributed.
  2. Divide the meat mixture into 4 even patties (or slider sized patties), brush both sides with the avocado oil and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Preheat grill, grill pan or cast-iron skillet to medium high heat. Grill 5 minutes – flip, 5 minutes – flip, 5 minutes – flip. Add cheese to the top and grill for an additional 3 minutes, covered.
  4. Prepare the buns or rolls and drizzle each side with olive oil and broil/grill until toasted to preferred likeness. Rub each side with the remaining whole garlic clove.
  5. Build your burger – bun, Caesar, lettuce, burger, more Caesar, tomatoes, onion, bun.
  6. Enjoy!
